Jubilee is a non-denominational fellowship that values the word of God, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and exists to exalt Jesus Christ.  We are committed to seeing everyone come to know the Lord, to grow in Him, and to be used by Him.

·       We are a non-denominational fellowship

Jubilee is not anti-denominational. We do not stand in opposition to any other church or denomination. We don’t view ourselves as superior because of we are not a part of a denomination.

The reason we are non-denominational is because we believe that the local church should be free to make all decisions regarding direction, leadership, and finances.

Being non-denominational does not mean that we don’t have wisdom that we can tap into!

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Our desire for wisdom needs to be directed toward God. True wisdom does not come from man, but from God.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

We acknowledge Jesus alone as the head of the church.

Ephesians 1:22-23 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body , the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

As the head of the church, Jesus is placed in the position of sovereign.

Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

Jesus is the owner, architect and builder of the church.

Matthew 16:18 “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Acts 2:47 And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Not only does the church belong to Jesus, but Jesus has an incredible love for His church.

Ephesians 5:25-29 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

·       Belongs to Jesus

·       Is directly accountable to Jesus

·       Is in submission to Jesus

We are a non-denominational fellowship.

·       We value the word of God

God has preserved the word for centuries for His people. There have been people like King Jehoiakim who have tried to eliminate the word of God.

Jeremiah 36:20-23 And they went to the king, into the court; but they stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the hearing of the king. So the king sent Jehudi to bring the scroll, and he took it from Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king. Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning on the hearth before him. And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe's knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

The reason that we value the word of God is not simply because of its antiquity, but because it has been given to us by God.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…

We do not claim to have a revelation of the word that no one else possesses.

2 Peter 1:20-21 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God  spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

The reason we speak and teach from the word is because the word brings life! Jesus said there was life in His words!

John 6:63 “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”

God’s word is incredibly powerful.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

When God sends His word it accomplishes everything He wants it to.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

We need to have the word planted in our hearts and we need to walk in obedience to it.

James 1:21-22 receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

We value the word of God.

·       We value the ministry of the Holy Spirit

We do not simply acknowledge the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we value and treasure it!

John the Baptist told us that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit

John 1:33 “I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit”

God desires us to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit

The Holy Spirit has come to help us

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

The Holy Spirit has come to empower us

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit has come to teach us

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

Without the Holy Spirit a church’s ministry is limited to man’s abilities. Yet, when we rely on the ministry of the Holy Spirit, there is no limit to what we can accomplish as a church.

We not only welcome the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our midst, but we embrace it.

·       We exist to exalt Jesus Christ

Jubilee is not here to exalt any man, or promote a man-made agenda. We are here to exalt Jesus Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We know that Jesus was speaking of the cross when he spoke these words in John 12:

John 12:32 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

Yet we also believe that as we exalt Him, that He will draw people to Himself.

There was a time when the Jewish council in Jerusalem grew tired of the church preaching about Jesus constantly, so they made a determination.

Acts 4:18-20 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."

If we are not exalting Jesus Christ, we are not listening to God.

Jesus did not describe Himself as one of the ways to get to heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth , and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Exalting Jesus is our duty!

·       We are committed to seeing everyone come to know the Lord

Jesus not only died for our sin, but He died for the sins of the entire world.

1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Peter said in Acts 4

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

That is the message that we need to be taking to the world. Jesus told us that is what we need to be busying ourselves with.

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

The devil would like for us to stay busy doing anything except taking the gospel to the world.

We are committed to seeing everyone we can reach coming to know the Lord.

·       We are committed to seeing everyone grow in the Lord

God now only wants us to come into His family, but He wants us to grow in our knowledge and understanding of Him. Even though we may start out knowing very little, we grow from there.

1 Peter 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby

As a church we spend a great amount of time teaching the word in an expositional way. The reason for that is found in the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 28:10 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

Paul explained the reason that God has given those with ministry gifts in Ephesians 4.

Ephesians 4

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ —

God’s plan is that we would all grow up in Christ in all things, and that is part of our Mission Statement.

·       We are committed to seeing everyone be used by the Lord

God has called each of us, not only to be part of His family, but also to have a part in the ministry.

We talk much about gifts at Jubilee. God had equipped each of us with gifts, but these gifts are to be used the right way, in a way that will glorify God. Listen to Roman chapter 12.

Romans 12

4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,

5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;

8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

You can see the emphasis Paul places on how the gifts are to be used.

We are a church that emphasizes in its Mission Statement the fact that God desires to use you.

Jubilee is a non-denominational fellowship that values the word of God, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and exists to exalt Jesus Christ.  We are committed to seeing everyone come to know the Lord, to grow in Him, and to be used by Him.
